I-15 CORE

The I-15 Corridor Expansion (CORE) Project is a significant infrastructure upgrade project in Utah. This project is aimed at providing an additional two lanes in each direction and an extension of the express lanes. A total of 10 freeway interchanges will be rebuilt, 55 bridges will be replaced. The aim is to meet the transportation needs in the region through 2030.

This project includes a number of accelerated bridge construction details including substructures, SPMTs and superstructures used in a moderate- to- high seismic region.

Tobolski Watkins Engineering provided Raba-Kistner Infrastructure, Inc. (through Hatch Mott MacDonald) with review of design drawings and calculations for compliance with newly updated seismic design criteria.
