Tobolski Watkins has performed a variety preliminary structural assessments and developed preliminary designs of supplemental damping systems for an international damping manufacturer. Studies have been conducted for a range of structures with varying structural systems including structures with heights up to 400 ft.
Analyses have been conducted for both seismic and wind loading scenarios; including static analyses, modal analysis, response spectra analysis, and time history analysis. For a high rise structure, dynamic wind load time history forcing functions were developed based on local site characteristics. Individual time history inputs were developed for each floor of this 400 ft structure to properly characterize the distribution of wind induced actions.
