Los Alamos Lab SAFER
Tobolski Watkins conducted a variety of seismic analyses and probabilistic risk assessments due to reassessment of the site seismic hazard. This effort included the evaluation of structures from PC-1 to PC-3 classifications. Structures were evaluated to determine the annual probability of incipient collapse in accordance with DOE-STD-1020. The impact of structural collapse of surrounding structures was considered for PC-3 structures through II/I analyses.
A variety of structural types were assessed including: concrete shear walls and frames, concrete frames with infill, concrete slabs, precast diaphragms, masonry shear walls, steel frames, steel joist roof systems and others. The effects of soil-structure interaction were considered in many cases. This project included the evaluation of ancillary systems such as tanks and equipment supports.
